Detroit Month of Design

Tracy was honored to serve on the selection committee for 2026 Detroit Month of Design. Although September is always a busy month, we really wanted to participate in some way this year, and we were so excited to host our first official event for Detroit Month of Design here at the Hope for Flowers studio!

We opened our doors for a Sample Sale and Sustainability talk with Tracy, creating conversation surrounding ethical and responsible fashion models.

Our Sample Sale gave customers the opportunity to shop sample pieces, many of which were one-of-a-kind designs that never made it to the final stage of production. These sales also give us the chance to share our design space with the community and show how we’re contributing to the growing fashion industry right here in Detroit.

For Tracy’s Sustainability Talk, attendees were invited into our Artisan Studio and shown a presentation on responsible fashion. Tracy discussed the differences between fast fashion and slow fashion, the environmental impacts of the fashion industry, garment quality, and ways that we can be more responsible in both fashion production and consumption.

It has been a wonderful month celebrating Design, Art, and Community in our city, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
