Accessibility Policy
Hope for Flowers’ Artisan Studio
1. Purpose and Scope
Hope for Flowers’ Artisan Studio is committed to making its arts and sustainability programming welcoming and accessible to participants and families. This policy explains how we approach accessibility for programs held through the Artisan Studio, how participants can request accommodations, and how they can share feedback.
This policy applies to Artisan Studio public programming, including Youth Arts Enrichment (YAE), Adult Art Enrichment (AAE), sustainability workshops, occasional public events, and related field trips.
2. Our Public Programs
Our programming is typically free and includes:
- Youth Arts Enrichment (YAE): Eight- to nine-week sessions for youth ages 7–12. Some YAE sessions include field trips to off-site locations such as galleries, museums, or outdoor spaces.
- Adult Art Enrichment (AAE): Four-week sessions for adults.
- Sustainability workshops: Single-session workshops that are generally two hours long are designed for adults and families. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult.
- Other public events: From time to time, the Artisan Studio may offer additional free or low-cost public programs and community events.
3. Program Information and Registration
Program information and registration links are shared through the Hope for Flowers website and email newsletters. These communications are meant to provide accessible information about program dates, locations, eligibility, registration, and participation requirements.
Registration is required for most public events and is generally completed through a Google Form. Registration forms include an opportunity for participants or caregivers to request accommodations and describe any support they may need to participate.
Participants may also contact us after registering or at any time before a program if an accessibility need arises.
4. Accommodations and Participation Supports
We welcome requests from participants, parents, caregivers, and other members of the public who need accommodations to participate in Artisan Studio programming. We will work with the participant or caregiver to understand the request and determine how we can best support participation.
Depending on the program and the request, available supports may include:
- Captions for video content used during sessions or workshops
- Printed or digital versions of program materials
- Materials with larger print
- Advance information about session activities and materials
If you need an accommodation or have questions about access, please email artisanstudio@hopeforflowers.com. In your message, include the program name and date, if known, and describe the support you are requesting. Please do not include more personal or medical information than is necessary to help us understand the request.
While we encourage requests at the time of registration or as soon as a need becomes known, requests made later will still be considered.
5. Studio and Off-Site Access
Artisan Studio programs are held in the Hope for Flowers Design Studio, which is located on the main floor of our building. If you have questions about accessing the studio or participating in a specific activity, please contact us before the program so we can discuss your needs.
Some YAE sessions may include field trips to galleries, museums, outdoor spaces, or other off-site locations. Access conditions and available supports may vary by location. We will share relevant information when available and encourage families to contact us in advance with questions or accommodation requests related to a field trip.
6. Accessible Program Materials and Media
When video content is used to support a class or workshop, we can provide captions. We can also provide program materials in printed or digital formats and adjust materials to use larger print when requested.
If you need materials in another format or have a question about how information will be presented during a program, please contact us at artisanstudio@hopeforflowers.com.
7. Feedback and Questions
We welcome feedback about accessibility and inclusion in Artisan Studio programs. To request an accommodation, ask an access question, or share feedback, contact us at: artisanstudio@hopeforflowers.com
