FAQ
How much do classes cost?
These classes are free for any students in Detroit, Highland Park, or Hamtramck thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and funders.
What are the classes like?
Classes are 90 minutes long and are taught by our expert Teaching Artists Mandisa Smith and Taylor Childs. After a welcome, students learn about spotlight artists, both local and global, and sustainable development goals. From there, students take what they've learned and apply it to a creative project.
What kinds of artwork do students make?
Our Artisan Studio classroom is equipped with materials of all kinds. Projects in the past have included collages, murals, self portraits, wool felting, beading, sculpture, and clay exploration.
What is the classroom size?
Our Detroit Artisan Studio classroom can accommodate 20 students. With two sessions available for each class, that means we can host up to 40 per Saturday.
I have more questions about the class. Who do I contact?
Please reach out to the Artisan Studio Director Mandisa Smith at artisanstudio@hopeforflowers.com
