Fall 2025 Youth Art Enrichment

AGES 7-12

These FREE Saturday art classes are open to children ages 7 to 12 who attend public or charter schools—or are homeschooled—in Detroit, Highland Park, or Hamtramck. Each class nurtures creativity, teaches new artistic skills, and emphasizes sustainability in every lesson.

This fall, we’re excited to focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal: Good Health & Well-Being. Through hands-on art projects, field trips, and thoughtful discussion, students will explore the connection between creativity, mental wellness, and healthy communities—learning how art can be a powerful tool for self-expression, emotional resilience, and positive change.

We’re also thrilled to welcome renowned letterpress printer Amos Paul Kennedy, who will bring his equipment and guide each child in creating their own original print.

This session includes two exciting field trips:
-A visit to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History to experience the Luminosity exhibit.
-A tour of Wayne County Community College’s Brown & Juanita C. Ford Gallery at the Downtown Campus.

To conclude the session, students will have the opportunity to exhibit their own artwork at WCCCD—this time, in a gallery space fully dedicated to Hope for Flowers!

Let’s make something beautiful together this fall. We can’t wait to see your child in class!
